A semi-wild, compact plant from Brazil, the Mata Frade chilli name means friar-killer. The small, 10 mm diameter pods have thin flesh and moderate a typical "Habanero" flavour. When maturing they are purple then orange thru to red. A beautiful and decorative plant the leaves are dark but the lower leaves remain green. Only the stalks are dark on lower surfaces. The plants grow to a height of 60cm and are high yielders.
